about me
From the intimate to the shared
Hello, I’m Laura Lucena – Luze – an illustrator from Alcalá de Henares in Spain, now based in Cambridge.
Since I was a child, drawing has been my way of expressing what I felt, of naming what isn’t always said with words.
I studied Fine Arts and later trained as a teacher, convinced that art is also a way to accompany, to reach out, to care.
Illustration has become my way of being in the world: a way to connect emotions, rescue memories, and tell what is not always seen but deeply felt.
My visual universe is born from detail and symbol, from a blend of traditional and digital techniques, from observing the everyday and listening closely.

Art as a way of inhabiting the world.
I draw what I feel, what I see, and all that we leave unspoken.
I work calmly, letting each line breathe, each stroke say something without shouting. I draw inspiration from nature, history, science, the struggles that cross us, and the women who paved the way. My perspective is feminist, sensitive, and committed.
Every illustration I create seeks to be a refuge or a door: something intimate that accompanies and invites you to pause and see from another place. Through my work, I try to celebrate imperfection, diversity, and those things that often go unnoticed. I believe in art that does not merely decorate but awakens; that does not impose but suggests.
Luze Ilustración is a one-woman project, made with soul, patience, and awareness. It is my way of inhabiting, resisting, and embracing the world. Thank you for peeking into this corner where each image is born from a deep desire to care, remember, and share.
